What is better a LCD or Projection television?

going to buy a t.v probably 42" and something thats clear and crisp and under 1500. Any Suggestions/

with $1200 now a days you can buy a flat panel HDTV you don’t need a projection, they huge and heavy and they don’t have good picture quality either. Flat panels are a beauty and light. A Panasonic or a Sony will do it. They are the best.

Good luck tv shopping

LCD is proably your best bet, as the number of choices has increased dramatically in the last year or so. LCD TV’s have brighter crisper screens than projection TV’s, and projection tv’s are better viewed in subdued lighting, while LCD tv’s can be viewed in normal lighting.
Go to a big box store that has lots of TV’s and look at them all to make your descision more informed.

Uncle works for Phillips as an engineer. For the quality, he says DLP. He says it’s a better picture, bigger screen for the $$, and will last at least 15 years. The downside? If it’s projection DLP, the bulbs will burn out. Don’t get the projection DLP. He likes LCD, but doesn’t like the black color, frame rate, or price for screen size. $1500 can just about get you a name brand 47" LCD at Costco, or a 55" DLP. DLP is wider and heaver, wheras LCD can mount anywhere. I’m getting an LCD from Costco when my bonus arrives.
